The CZ 97 BD uses a DA/SA short-recoil system with a decocker and no manual safety. It incorporates a firing pin block and a loaded chamber indicator. The ring-style hammer and smooth, curved trigger support controlled operation in both double- and single-action modes.
The all-steel construction wears a black polycoat finish for durability. A 4.65 in cold hammer forged barrel is paired with a screw-in barrel bushing. The slide features top anti-glare serrations/rib and an external extractor.
Sighting is straightforward with fixed 3-dot tritium night sights and a TRU-DOT rear. The dust cover is non-railed, keeping the classic profile of the CZ 97 line.
