The MPX PCC operating system is a short-stroke gas piston with a closed rotating bolt, delivering smooth cycling in a pistol-caliber configuration. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a matte black anodized finish and right-side ejection, with factory markings including SIG MPX and the SIG SAUER, INC., Newington, NH rollmark.
The 16-inch barrel is threaded and free-floated under a long aluminum M-LOK handguard that provides slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. A three-chamber compensator is installed, and a full-length Picatinny top rail with numbered reference marks runs across the upper for consistent accessory placement.
Ergonomics and controls follow a familiar layout with an AR-style rear charging handle and a manual safety. The rear of the receiver uses a 1913 hinge fitted with an adjustable Magpul carbine stock that folds to the side. Length of pull is set at 14.75 inches. A textured polymer pistol grip provides a secure hold.
Low-profile folding iron sights are installed front and rear. The carbine uses proprietary SIG MPX magazines in 9x19 with a stated capacity of 30+1. Two 30-round magazines are included.
