Built in the United States in 1972, this Arizona Ranger Commemorative Frontier Scout is part of a limited run of about 3,000 revolvers, each bearing an AR-suffix serial within the dedicated 1AR–3000AR range. It retains the classic single-action-only operation, a six-shot fluted cylinder, and a 5.5-inch barrel chambered in .22 LR.
The revolver presents a striking factory finish combination: a color case-hardened frame and receiver paired with blued barrel and cylinder. Nickel-plated components include the trigger guard, backstrap, hammer, and trigger. The backstrap carries factory scroll engraving, and the barrel legends are gold-filled, including the "ARIZONA RANGER COMMEMORATIVE" marking and the Hartford address. The frame is marked with the Rampant Colt and the 1871/72/75 patent dates.
Period-correct features include fixed sights with a quarter-round blade front and a square-notch rear integral to the topstrap. The action uses a side loading gate with an SAA-style base pin and a spring-loaded ejector. Smooth hardwood grips with silver Colt medallions complement the commemorative finish and engraving details.
This example is factory cased as issued for the series, accompanied by the Arizona Rangers five-point star badge. Note: the glass on the presentation case has chips from initial shipping, as observed by the seller.
