This SIG Sauer SIG516 is a short-stroke, adjustable gas-piston AR-15 configured with a lightweight carbon-fiber free-float handguard and practical upgrades. It features a Magpul adjustable carbine stock fitted with a LaRue Tactical RISR cheek riser, an ambidextrous extended charging handle, and a 16-inch barrel with an A2-style flash hider. It comes with four 30-round magazines, flip-up sights (not installed), a Magpul bipod, and the original SIG Sauer cardboard rifle box.

The SIG516 uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas-piston system with an adjustable regulator accessible through a window in the handguard. This setup pairs the AR-15 pattern with piston-driven operation and provides user-adjustable gas settings. The forged receivers include a forward assist and an ejection-port cover, and the rifle is finished in matte black.
The 16-inch barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2-style birdcage flash hider. A full-length 1913 Picatinny top rail with T-marks runs the length of the upper, with a short top-rail segment over the gas block. The rifle accepts STANAG-pattern magazines and has a listed capacity of 30+1 rounds.
A free-float carbon-fiber tube handguard with elongated cooling slots reduces weight and includes a QD sling socket. A low-profile hand stop is installed for consistent support-hand placement. The adjustable gas regulator can be reached directly through the handguard window for quick changes.
Furniture and controls are set up for practical use. The Magpul 6-position carbine stock is equipped with a LaRue Tactical RISR cheek riser, and the length of pull is adjustable to approximately 10.5–13.5 inches. An ambidextrous extended-lever charging handle is installed, and the rifle uses a SIG-pattern textured polymer pistol grip and a manual safety selector.
Receiver markings include "SIG SAUER SIG516" on the upper and "SIG SAUER INC EXETER–NH–USA" on the lower. The rifle was manufactured in the USA and is finished in matte black.
