What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police Pre-Model 10 revolver with Pachmayr rubber wraparound grips
This example is a pre-model-number .38 Military & Police, made before S&W adopted model markings in the yoke cut. The absence of "MOD. 10" in the yoke area aligns with its Pre-Model 10 status, and the K-prefix serial range identifies it as a K-frame .38 Special revolver from the pre-1957 era.
It is built on a carbon steel K-frame with a six-round cylinder and a 4-inch tapered "pencil" barrel. The action is double-action/single-action, and the fixed sights include a serrated integral ramp front and a rear notch milled into the topstrap. Anti-glare serrations are present on the topstrap and barrel rib.
An observed bright nickel finish is present on the frame and cylinder (factory status not determined). Controls include a knurled ejector rod tip with a front locking lug, plus a checkered cylinder latch and hammer spur for positive manipulation.
Markings include "SMITH & WESSON." on the barrel and "38 S.&W. SPECIAL CTG." on the opposite side, along with "MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS." on the right side of the frame. The S&W monogram is on the sideplate. Proof/inspection stamps and assembly numbers are visible in the yoke cut.
This full-size revolver wears Pachmayr rubber wraparound grips, adding a secure, hand-filling hold. It is part of the Military & Police series and was made in the USA.
