Manufactured in 1983, this rifle is a 183 Series Mini-14 in the standard non-Ranch, non-GB configuration. It carries the Southport, Connecticut "STURM, RUGER & CO., INC." rollmark and was produced well before the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban.
The rifle uses Ruger’s semi-automatic, short-stroke gas-piston system with a four-screw gas block and a vented upper handguard. Controls are familiar and intuitive, including the right-side charging handle and in-guard safety.
The 18.5-inch pencil-profile barrel and blued steel receiver keep the rifle light and quick to handle, while the hardwood stock features a semi-pistol-grip and sling swivels. Length of pull measures 12.5 inches.
Iron sights include a protected front post and a wing-protected, adjustable aperture rear. The rifle is configured for a 30+1 capacity in .223 Rem and comes with three extended polymer magazines plus a short steel magazine for versatility.
