Built at Jianshe Arsenal and marked with the triangle "/26" stamp and Chinese characters "五六式", this Type 56 SKS is a 1966 production example that retains its classic military configuration. It carries PW Arms import markings identifying Redmond, Washington.
The rifle uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a tilting bolt and a milled steel receiver. It has a blued finish, a 20.5 inch barrel, and an internal fixed 10-round magazine with a hinged floorplate. The charging handle features a knurled knob for positive manipulation.
Sights are traditional SKS iron sights: a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight graduated in meters. Furniture consists of a hardwood full-length stock with a wood upper handguard, plus a right-side rear sling loop. Length of pull measures 12.5 inches.
This example includes the short-lug base folding spike bayonet. The last-five digits match on the bolt, bolt carrier, receiver cover, magazine floorplate, and trigger guard, confirming consistency across major components.
