This full-size Government Model features a 5 inch barrel and classic GI-style controls, including a short grip safety, GI slide stop, and a left-side thumb safety. It is chambered in .45 ACP with a 7+1 capacity and utilizes the traditional single-action, short-recoil operated system. Country of origin is the United States, and the year of manufacture is 2012.
The slide and frame are finished in black-oxide/blued to evoke the period-correct 'Black Army' look. The slide has rear-only vertical serrations and an un-lowered ejection port. A flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop and a wide-spur hammer continue the GI pattern.
Sights are fixed GI-type iron sights with a staked front blade and a small rear notch. Checkered walnut double-diamond stocks provide a traditional grip profile and period styling.
Centennial-specific markings include 'MODEL OF 1911–2011' and 'ADOPTED MARCH 29, 1911 – UNITED STATES ARMY', along with 'UNITED STATES PROPERTY' on the frame. Additional factory markings include 'COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG.
CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.' and the rampant Colt logo. This is the Tier III variant within Colt's 1911–2011 100th Anniversary series, cataloged as 01911ANVIII, with orders accepted only through November 30, 2011.
