Italian manufacture and proofing define this 92F. The slide is marked on the left "PIETRO BERETTA GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY" with the PB oval logo. The right side reads "MOD. 92 F – CAL 9 Parabellum – PATENTED" over the importer line for Beretta USA Corp., Accokeek, MD.
Italian proof stamps and the AU date code indicate a 1989 proof year.
The pistol uses a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with a short-recoil, locking-block operation. It features an ambidextrous, slide-mounted safety/decocker and an exposed spur hammer. The frame is aluminum alloy with a black finish, matched to a black-finished slide.
