The 21-inch heavy-profile barrel is carbon steel, button rifled, and matte blued with a plain muzzle. This configuration pairs rigidity with a clean, utilitarian finish, and uses a 1:9 twist suited to .17 HMR loads.
Savage's AccuTrigger is user-adjustable and incorporates an inner safety blade. A manual safety is located at the rear/right with a red indicator, and the right-hand bolt uses a round knob for a familiar, positive grip.
