What’s Included
- Winchester Model 97 E-Series Takedown 12 Gauge shotgun
Built in the late E-series period and manufactured in 1930 per published serial tables, this Model 97 reflects the features associated with the era, including the model designation marked on the barrel and patent-date rollmarks. The Winchester oval WP proofs are present on both the barrel and receiver.
The 30 inch barrel carries the factory "FULL" choke and a single front bead, providing a straightforward sighting setup. The shotgun employs the original takedown system, allowing the barrel and magazine assembly to separate from the receiver for transport or maintenance.
The pump-action mechanism uses an external hammer and a tubular under-barrel magazine with a 5+1 capacity. It has matching E-prefix serial markings on the receiver and barrel extension. The receiver is steel, and the shotgun was made in the USA.
Furniture includes a walnut stock with no checkering and a corncob grooved walnut fore-end. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. A period aftermarket ventilated recoil pad marked "No Jolt - Marshall Wells Co." is installed on the stock.
