The Custom TLE/RL II is a full-size, Government-length 1911 built on a matte black steel frame with an integral three-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail. The slide is finished to match, with front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered and flared ejection port. Factory markings include Kimber Troy, AL USA.
This Series II pistol uses a single-action 1911 operating system with a Swartz-type firing pin block. Controls include a left-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump. It wears a skeletonized commander-style hammer and a skeletonized, 3-hole aluminum trigger. The front strap and mainspring housing are checkered, and the grip panels are double-diamond checkered wood.
The 5-inch bushing-fit barrel uses a 1:16 twist. Chambered in .45 ACP, it feeds from 8-round Kimber magazines for an 8+1 capacity when topped off.
Sighting is configured with a fixed-blade front (single dot) and an ADE Advanced Optics RD3-029 "Trumpet" 4-MOA red dot in place of the rear sight, installed via a rear-sight dovetail mounting plate. This setup offers a clear, precise aiming point while keeping the slide clean and functional.
