The XM15-E2S is built on forged aluminum receivers with a matte black anodized finish. The flat-top A3 upper includes a forward assist, brass deflector, and ejection-port cover, with a T-marked STANAG 1913 rail for mounting the included rear sight or other compatible accessories.
The 16 inch steel barrel uses a carbine-length gas system and a non-M4 profile. It is threaded and fitted with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor. The pinned A-frame front sight base integrates a bayonet lug and a front sling swivel.
The rifle uses an A2-pattern fixed stock made of black polymer, complete with a trapdoor buttplate and rear sling loop. Length of pull is 13.0 inches. Carbine-length, two-piece ribbed polymer handguards round out the classic configuration.
This semi-automatic, direct-impingement AR-15 accepts STANAG-pattern detachable magazines. It is chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 30+1 capacity and includes a Magpul PMAG Gen M3. A manual safety selector is standard.
