The M&P45c no-thumb-safety variant combines a striker-fired action with passive safety systems. It uses a hinged two-piece safety trigger, a sear deactivation lever, and a loaded-chamber viewport. The slide is marked to indicate the pistol can fire with the magazine removed, confirming there is no magazine disconnect.
Built around a stainless-steel barrel and stainless slide treated with a black Melonite/nitride finish, this pistol pairs corrosion-resistant construction with Smith & Wesson’s embedded stainless-steel frame chassis. Fish-scale cocking serrations and an external extractor support positive manipulation and consistent extraction.
Ergonomics are adjustable and grippy thanks to the interchangeable S/M/L backstraps and textured grip panels. Sighting is straightforward with a dovetailed steel white-dot front blade and a low-profile dovetailed steel rear notch, supported by an approximate 6.3 in sight radius.
Dimensionally, the compact frame offers an overall length of about 7.55 in, a height of 4.8 in, and a width of 1.2 in. Weight is approximately 26.2 oz without a magazine. The 4 in barrel, 8+1 capacity, and integral three-slot Picatinny rail add practical utility for carry and accessory mounting.
