The Gold Cup Trophy configuration is evident in its target-oriented features and slide markings. It is a stainless steel Government Model with brushed flats and matte/bead-blasted rounds for a clean, purposeful look. Built on the 1911 platform and made in the USA, it follows the Series 70 pattern and runs single-action only.
The pistol uses the short-recoil 1911 operating system with a standard recoil spring plug (no full-length guide rod) and a Government-length 5 inch barrel. A lowered and flared ejection port is cut into the stainless slide.
Target sighting is provided by a red fiber-optic front sight and a fully adjustable target rear. Controls include an extended beavertail grip safety with a raised memory pad, a manual thumb safety, a skeletonized hammer, and a lightened three-hole trigger.
Chambered in 9mm Luger, this single-stack 1911 is marked "COLT GOLD CUP TROPHY" with a trophy emblem on the slide and "COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL" on the right side. Capacity is 10+1, and three 10-round magazines are included. The factory case label lists model O5072GCL (Gold Cup Lite), while the pistol itself is marked and configured as a Gold Cup Trophy.
