The first-generation (pre-M2.0) M&P45 is identifiable by its fish-scale slide serrations and extended beavertail, paired here with a full-size frame and 4.5 in barrel. The slide and barrel are stainless steel treated with a Melonite/Armornite nitride finish, and the frame uses a stainless-steel internal chassis for rigidity. A three-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail is integrated into the dust cover.
This model is striker-fired with a short-recoil, locked-breech system. It uses a hinged, two-piece trigger with an integral safety and has no external thumb safety. The pistol is also built without a magazine disconnect, a configuration confirmed by the factory warning marking stating it is capable of firing with the magazine removed. Field-stripping is designed around a sear-deactivation lever, so no trigger press is required to disassemble.
Controls and handling are straightforward, with a reversible magazine release and an external extractor. Steel 3-dot sights are set in dovetails, with a white-dot front and two-dot rear. The frame incorporates the M&P interchangeable palm-swell backstrap system retained by the frame tool in the grip, allowing the shooter to tailor the hand fit.
This example comes with two extended-length magazines and two flush-fit magazines, offering flexibility in capacity and grip length. The slide wears a black finish, and both the frame and slide present cleanly, consistent with the noted very good overall condition.
