The XD Service Model (Low Capacity) delivers .45 ACP performance in a full-size format with a 4 inch barrel and 10+1 capacity. This configuration ships with two 10-round magazines and retains the original XD ergonomics and control layout.
Construction is robust and corrosion-resistant: the forged steel slide wears a black Melonite finish, and the hammer-forged steel barrel is Melonite treated with a 1:16 twist. Front and rear cocking serrations aid manipulation, and the dual captive recoil springs run on a full-length guide rod.
The black polymer frame provides coarse texturing on the frontstrap and backstrap for a stable grip and includes an integral accessory rail. Steel 3-dot sights come standard, with a single white dot front blade and a dovetailed rear with two white dots.
This pistol is the original-generation XD (not Mod.2), built by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported/marketed by Springfield Armory. Import markings read "SPRINGFIELD, INC., GENESEO IL • MADE IN CROATIA," and the case label indicates product code XD9511.
