The VP9 is a full-size 9mm striker-fired pistol with a 4.09 in cold hammer forged steel barrel using polygonal rifling and a 1:9.8 in right-hand twist. The slide includes front and rear cocking serrations and HK charging supports for confident manipulation, and it has no optic cut.
Ergonomics are a core feature: the polymer frame uses HK's modular grip system with interchangeable backstraps and side panels and an aggressive texture for secure purchase. Ambidextrous slide stop levers support left- and right-handed use, and an integral Picatinny rail with four slots provides mounting flexibility.
The sighting system pairs a high-visibility green dot front sight with a black serrated square-notch rear, delivering a clean sight picture across a 6.38 in sight radius. Safety and status indicators include a trigger safety, loaded chamber indicator, and cocking indicator.
