Chambered in .45 ACP and fed by UMP-pattern magazines, it combines proven LWRC engineering with a feature-rich, ready-to-run configuration.

The SMG-45 uses a short-recoil/delayed-blowback action tuned for .45 ACP, paired with an 8.5 inch cold hammer forged chromoly barrel. The muzzle is threaded .578-28 RH and ships with a thread protector installed. The 1:16 RH twist supports common .45 ACP loads with reliable stability.
Controls are designed for confident handling: a fully ambidextrous safety selector and bolt catch, a large paddle-style magazine release, and a folding, non-reciprocating, reversible left-side charging handle. The platform accepts UMP-pattern .45 ACP magazines, and this example comes with two 25-round magazines for a 25+1 capacity.
Up top, a full-length T-marked Picatinny rail provides continuous alignment for sights and accessories. The modular slotted handguard includes textured bolt-on rail panels and an integrated forward hand stop. Flip-up metal front and rear sights are installed for immediate use.
The hard-coat anodized aluminum frame and receiver provide durability while keeping weight in check. An SB Tactical side-folding arm brace with a rear QD sling socket adds versatile carry and storage options. Markings include MULTI-CAL., MADE IN THE U.S.A., and Cambridge, MD. Due to the moving-barrel short-recoil system, many suppressors typically require a Nielsen-type booster when used on this platform.
