The P232 uses a fixed 3.6 inch barrel within a straight-blowback system, paired with a DA/SA trigger and decocking lever. There is no manual safety, and an external spurred hammer provides clear status and easy manipulation.
Controls and handling follow a European pattern with a heel-type magazine catch for secure retention. The compact aluminum-alloy frame and matte black finish keep weight and glare in check, while the black textured synthetic grips offer a stable hold.
Sight picture is straightforward and durable with fixed sights: a ramped front with a white dot and a dovetailed rear notch. The slide includes top anti-glare serrations and rear diagonal grasping serrations for confident manipulation.
Chambered in .380 ACP and marked "9 mm kurz," this example is made in Germany and shows German eagle/N and antler-style proof marks alongside SIGARMS INC. EXETER–NH import markings. Model and origin markings include "SIG SAUER P232" and "MADE IN GERMANY."
