The 887 Nitro Mag Tactical uses Remington's ArmorLokt system, where glass-filled nylon overmolding fully encases the steel barrel and receiver. The 4140 steel barrel and twin action bars support smooth cycling and durability. A synthetic stock and forend with molded texturing and the Remington SuperCell recoil pad provide a secure, recoil-mitigating shoulder interface with a 13.75 inch length of pull.
This Tactical model features an 18.5 inch barrel topped with a solid rib and a green fiber-optic front bead for quick sight acquisition. The extended ported breacher choke delivers the extended choke configuration requested while adding aggressive porting at the muzzle. A fixed tubular magazine provides 5+1 capacity.
Versatility is a core strength: the Super Magnum receiver and barrel accept 2 3/4, 3, or 3 1/2 inch chambering, expanding load options from light to heavy-duty. Mounting surfaces include a receiver-top Picatinny rail (two-screw attachment) and a barrel clamp with an integral rail and sling-swivel stud for accessories and sling attachment.
Made in the USA, the Model 887 series was introduced in 2009 (with the Tactical variant following in 2010) and discontinued in 2015. Remington issued a safety recall for some 2013–2014 production units; buyers can verify any specific serial number with the manufacturer.
