This Maxim Defense PDX pistol is a purpose-built, ultra-compact 5.56 NATO platform with a 5.5 in barrel, a collapsed overall length of 18.75 in, and an unloaded weight of 5 lb 11 oz. It features the factory Arid two-tone Type III hard-coat anodized finish, the SCW two-rod sliding brace, and the HATEBRAKE muzzle booster positioned under the handguard. Premium controls include the ALG Combat Trigger, Radian Raptor-LT ambidextrous charging handle, and an ambidextrous safety selector.

The PDX design centers on maximum performance in minimal space. The short free-float M-LOK handguard includes recessed QD sling cups and an integral handstop, with a continuous 1913 top rail. The HATEBRAKE muzzle booster sits tucked under the handguard, and the 5.5 in barrel is threaded 1/2x28 with a 1:7 twist.
Controls and ergonomics are thoughtfully executed. An ambidextrous safety selector, a Radian Raptor-LT ambidextrous charging handle, and an ALG Combat Trigger provide fast, positive handling. The Reptilia polymer pistol grip and the SCW brace system with two-rod sliding, collapsible adjustment and a hook-and-loop strap round out the package.
The receiver set is aluminum (7075/6061), finished in the factory Arid two-tone Type III hard-coat anodizing. The lower is marked "MDX MULTI-CALIBER." This example uses a direct-impingement gas system on the AR-15 platform, chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 30+1 capacity.
