The Model 2213 uses a fixed-barrel, blowback system with the recoil spring positioned above the barrel via a top-mounted guide plug. This low-bore-axis layout provides a compact profile while maintaining the simplicity of a blowback .22 LR.
Construction features include a stainless steel slide over a silver-finished aluminum alloy frame and black textured synthetic grip panels with S&W medallions. The compact 3-inch barrel and single-stack magazine keep the pistol slim and easy to handle.
Controls are straightforward: single-action, hammer-fired operation with a frame-mounted thumb safety and a magazine disconnect. The front-strap magazine release lever is distinctive to the platform and feeds from detachable single-stack magazines for an 8+1 capacity.
Iron sights are a clear 3-dot set, with a single-dot front blade and a rear dovetail that is drift-adjustable for windage. Slide markings include Houlton, Maine manufacture and Model 2213 rollmark. Magazines are shared across the S&W 422/622/2206 family, adding cross-compatibility within the series.
