This H&R Model 980 Ultra Slug is a purpose-built 12 gauge slug gun with a heavy, round-profile 24 inch rifled barrel and a 3 inch chamber. It uses a single-shot break-action with an external hammer and a 1-round capacity. The receiver has a matte finish and is fitted with a scope mounting rail, and there are no open sights. Made in Gardner, Massachusetts, it wears a hardwood pistol-grip stock with a ventilated recoil pad and a matching beavertail forend.
