The Golden Mountie is the compact carbine configuration of the Model 39A, built with a straight-grip walnut stock, a 20-inch barrel, and a barrel band. This example features Golden-series details such as the gold-colored trigger, plus a Marlin-branded black hard buttplate, a white-line spacer, and a rear sling swivel stud matched to a barrel-band front swivel.
Chambered in .22 LR, it uses Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling in a 20-inch blued barrel and feeds from a tubular magazine rated at 19+1 capacity. The checkered walnut forend with barrel band complements the stock for a cohesive carbine profile.
The solid-top steel receiver is factory drilled and tapped on the top and left side, with two plugged side-mount holes present. Sighting equipment includes a ramped hooded front sight and a folding semi-buckhorn rear sight, while the pre-cross-bolt configuration relies on a half-cock hammer safety.
This rifle retains the classic Marlin takedown design with a knurled receiver screw for easy separation. It was manufactured in 1966, identifiable by its AB-prefix serial. The setup is completed with a CenterPoint 3-9x scope installed in rings and bases, with bikini-style lens covers attached.
