Built by Winchester Repeating Arms in 1944, this M1 Carbine falls squarely in the wartime WRA 5.55–5.83 million serial block. It is chambered in .30 Carbine with an 18 inch barrel and the standard GI short-stroke tappet gas system with rotating bolt. The receiver ring carries the correct model marking "U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 M1."
It retains distinctive wartime configuration details: an early narrow barrel band without bayonet lug, a low-wood hardwood stock with oval sling cut and buttstock sling slot, and a matching four-rivet hardwood handguard. The bolt is the round pattern. The metal shows a matte gray parkerized finish over the steel receiver.
Sighting equipment is the GI iron set: a fixed front blade protected by ears and an adjustable sliding aperture rear sight with windage knob. The rear sight leaf is stamped "H," and the barrel band is stamped "JM," aligning with documented wartime parts markings.
Capacity is stated at 30+1. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. This carbine comes with one 30-round pattern magazine, two standard 15-round pattern steel magazines, and an installed OD web sling to complete the package.
