The AR-50’s one-piece aluminum chassis and massive octagonal steel receiver form a rigid foundation for .50 BMG. This first-generation configuration retains the classic AR-50 architecture and markings, including the ArmaLite Inc. circular logo, Geneseo, Illinois manufacturer mark, and model/caliber stamps.
The 30 inch heavy-profile steel barrel is fitted with a target crown and is threaded for a large rectangular two-baffle side-port brake. The brake’s collar is stamped 'AL7B'. This setup manages recoil and helps maintain stability in extended shooting sessions.
The skeletonized aluminum stock includes an adjustable buttplate and a thick recoil pad with a straight comb, providing a solid shoulder interface. Length of pull is 15.0. A black textured finger-groove pistol grip and a large round bolt knob aid control during cycling.
A long extruded fore-end with an underside T-slot/track accepts the sliding bipod shoe; a bench/field-style bipod is installed. The rifle has an integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail and no iron sights.
