This Maxim Defense MDX is a custom AR-15 build that pairs a Maxim Defense MDX lower with a Bear Creek Arsenal right-side-charging upper. It features a 16-inch stainless fluted heavy-profile barrel with a stainless multi-port muzzle device, a free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard, and a Maxim Defense telescoping twin-rod stock. The .223 Wylde chamber supports both .223 Remington and 5.56x45 NATO, and a SIG SAUER riflescope with up to 12x magnification is mounted in rings.

This rifle uses a mixed-manufacturer configuration: the lower receiver is a Maxim Defense MDX marked "MAXIM DEFENSE INDUSTRIES, ST. CLOUD, MN USA" with the MDX logo, while the upper receiver is a Bear Creek Arsenal unit with right-side charging and a screw-in charging handle. The platform is direct impingement and uses the AR-15/STANAG magazine interface.
The 16-inch barrel is stainless steel with fluting and a heavy profile for added rigidity. A stainless multi-port muzzle device is installed, and the barrel is threaded. The .223 Wylde chambering provides compatibility with both .223 Remington and 5.56x45 NATO. Capacity is 30+1.
Furniture includes a free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard and a Maxim Defense telescoping twin-rod stock with a rubberized hex-pattern buttpad. A Magpul MOE-style polymer pistol grip rounds out the control set.
Optics are addressed with a SIG SAUER riflescope offering up to 12x magnification, mounted in SIG SAUER Buckmasters rings on the receiver rail. The receiver rail provides a solid mounting surface for the included optic.
