The 887 NitroMag Tactical uses a steel receiver and barrel encapsulated in Remington's ArmorLokt polymer overmold for a durable, corrosion-resistant exterior. The black synthetic stock features molded grip panels and a SuperCell recoil pad, paired with a matching synthetic fore-end. Length of pull is 13.75". Made in the USA.
The 18.5" steel barrel is ported, features a solid rib, and is threaded for RemChoke. It is equipped with an extended flash hider cylinder choke and breacher-style profile. A green fiber-optic front bead provides a clear aiming point; there is no rear sight.
Chambered for 2 3/4", 3", and 3 1/2" shells, this pump-action shotgun uses twin steel action bars for smooth cycling. Factory capacity is listed as 6+1 with 2 3/4" shells. A receiver scope mount/rail is present for mounting as needed.
The Nitro Mag series was introduced in 2009, with the Tactical configuration appearing circa 2010 and production ending in 2015. Remington issued a voluntary safety recall for certain Model 887 shotguns manufactured in 2013–2014. The box label accompanying this gun matches the serial number on the receiver.
