This FNX-45 Tactical is built around a 5.3 inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel that is extended and threaded 0.578x28 RH for use with compatible .45-caliber muzzle devices. The slide is stainless steel with a matte black finish and features both front and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation.
The pistol uses a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with a rowel spur hammer. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety/decocker, slide stop, and magazine release. The magazine release is ambidextrous, reversible, and textured for secure actuation.
The optics-ready slide includes a cover plate and adapter plates, providing direct mounting options for popular handgun optics. Suppressor-height 3-dot iron sights — a tall white-dot front post with a two white-dot rear notch — offer a clear sight picture and co-witness capability with most mounted optics.
The polymer frame is finished in black and incorporates a MIL-STD-1913 three-slot accessory rail for lights or other rail-mounted accessories. Interchangeable backstraps allow rapid grip sizing. The pistol is marked .45 ACP on the barrel hood and slide, and carries FN Columbia, SC USA and FN oval crest markings, reflecting its USA manufacture.
Capacity is 15+1 rounds of .45 ACP, and this example includes three 15-round steel magazines. The combination of capacity, ambidextrous operation, optics-readiness, and suppressor-height sights makes this a highly configurable .45 ACP platform from FN’s FNX series.
