The P85 MK II is a full-size member of Ruger’s P-Series, chambered in 9mm Luger with a 4.5 in barrel and an approximate overall length of 7.8 in. It is marked "RUGER P85 MK II" on the slide, with "9mm x 19" on the barrel hood, and was manufactured in 1992 per Ruger’s serial range.
Construction is robust, with a steel slide and barrel mated to an investment-cast aluminum-alloy frame. Standard capacity is 15+1, and this pistol includes three 15-round steel magazines.
The operating system is short-recoil, tilting-barrel with DA/SA trigger control. Controls include an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, a firing pin block, and a left-side push-button magazine release. The hammer is an external ring-spur type, and the trigger is a smooth curved profile.
Sight setup is fixed, featuring a ramped blade front with a single dot and a fixed square-notch rear that is drift/set-screw style. The slide carries rear serrations, ambidextrous safety/decocker levers, and a large ejection port to aid reliability.
Ergonomics are anchored by a one-piece black polymer grip with the Ruger phoenix medallion and an integral lanyard loop at the grip base. This U.S.-made example represents the refined MK II configuration of the P85 platform.
