As a discontinued FNS-series model and predecessor to the FN 509 line, it offers a proven, feature-rich setup with factory documentation.

The FNS-40 Non-Manual Safety variant delivers a straightforward, striker-fired system with a trigger safety and a loaded chamber indicator. Fully ambidextrous controls include the slide stop and magazine release, making the pistol adaptable to either hand. Capacity is 14+1 with the included magazines.
The 4-inch barrel is stainless steel and cold hammer forged, with 6-groove, left-hand rifling at a 1:16 twist. This setup is built for durability and consistent performance. The pistol is part of the FNS series, which is now discontinued, and it served as the direct predecessor to the FN 509 line.
The stainless steel slide wears a matte black finish and features front and rear cocking serrations plus an external extractor. Sights are fixed 3-dot, with a dovetailed white-dot front and a dovetailed fixed rear, providing a clean, durable sight picture.
The black polymer frame uses aggressive texturing and interchangeable backstraps for a secure, customizable grip. An under-frame MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail is integrated for mounting compatible lights or other accessories.
