The pistol uses a 4.41 in cold hammer-forged polygonal barrel and HK's captive recoil/buffer recoil-reduction system. Capacity is 12+1, and two 12-round magazines are included.
Controls are classic USP: DA/SA with an external hammer, a manual safety, and the HK paddle-style magazine release. Rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and the molded polymer grip texture offers a secure hold.
Fixed 3-dot sights provide a clean sight picture. The frame incorporates HK's proprietary universal accessory grooves (non-Picatinny) and a lanyard hole at the heel. The left grip panel is molded with the USP mark.
