This is the original large-frame Ruger Vaquero in .44 Rem Magnum, not the later New Vaquero. It is a six-shot revolver with a six-flute cylinder and a 5.5 inch barrel, built on an alloy steel frame, barrel, and cylinder. The blued barrel and cylinder contrast with the factory color case-style frame for a classic look.
The revolver uses fixed sights with a blade front and an integral topstrap groove rear. A crescent ejector-rod head adds traditional styling and straightforward operation. The frame is rollmarked "RUGER VAQUERO .44 MAG. CAL."
Operation is single-action only, with Ruger's transfer-bar safety and a loading gate interlock. The transfer-bar safety allows safe six carry. Smooth hardwood stocks feature Ruger silver-eagle medallions.
Identified as Catalog BNV-475 / Model 0546 (mfg part number 0546), this example was manufactured in 1995 per Ruger's serial history and was made in the United States. It comes with the factory two-piece box and an outer shipping carton with a matching serial end label.
