Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum and barrel roll-marked for .44 Special, it features a 20-inch round barrel with Micro-Groove rifling, a blued steel receiver, and an 8-round full-length tubular magazine. This example is fitted with a left-side clamp-on hammer spur extension and retains classic Marlin touches like the right-side loading gate, side ejection, and straight-grip hardwood stock with a gloss finish.

Made in 1989 per Marlin serial convention, this 1894S carries the North Haven, Connecticut barrel rollmark and the desirable JM stamped proof on the barrel. The receiver is blued steel and is drilled and tapped on the top with four plug screws installed. It uses the standard loop lever, side ejection, and a right-side loading gate for fast, straightforward operation.
The 20-inch round barrel features Marlin Micro-Groove rifling and is roll-marked for both .44 Remington Magnum and .44 Special. A full-length tubular magazine provides a stated 8-round capacity. The bore is clean and bright with sharp rifling, aligning with the excellent bore condition noted.
Sights are traditional iron sights with a ramped front sight base and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight with a step elevator. The front sight hood is not present in the photos. Safety features include a cross-bolt safety and a half-cock notch.
The stock set is hardwood with a gloss finish and a straight, smooth, uncheckered grip. A hard-rubber buttplate with the Marlin horse-and-rider medallion completes the classic profile. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. This rifle also includes a clamp-on hammer spur extension on the left side.
