Produced by the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (IMEZ) and marked "Made in Russia," this IJ-70-18A carries the KBI, INC HBG, PA import stamp. It represents the Baikal commercial export configuration of the Makarov PM with features tailored for the U.S. market, including the adjustable rear sight assembly.
The pistol uses a fixed, pinned steel barrel and a DA/SA straight blowback system in the classic PM layout. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker with a red-dot fire indicator and a heel-type magazine release. The spur/ring hammer, rear vertical slide serrations, and an anti-glare rib contribute to confident manipulation.
