The XD-9 4" Service Model is a full-size 9mm built around a forged steel slide and a hammer-forged barrel, both treated with Melonite for durability and corrosion resistance. The slide wears a black Melonite finish, and the frame is a robust black polymer, creating a proven duty-ready configuration.
Controls are straightforward and secure: a striker-fired action with a bladed trigger safety pairs with a grip safety, plus a top-mounted loaded chamber indicator and a rear striker status indicator. The push-through magazine release is ambidextrous for easy operation from either side.
The slide includes front and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation. Sights are dovetailed steel 3-dots with a fixed white-dot front and a fixed rear. An integral accessory rail on the dustcover supports lights or other rail-mounted equipment, and this pistol arrives with an installed Crimson Trace laser grip module.
Capacity is 16+1 rounds of 9mm Luger, and this package includes both a 16-round and a 10-round Springfield Armory factory steel magazine. It also features a dual captive recoil spring on a full-length guide rod. Markings include the Springfield Armory crossed-cannons crest on the slide top, SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S.A. on the right-side slide, XD-9 rollmark on the left, and 9x19 on the barrel hood.
