The Fieldmaster 572 feeds from an under-barrel tubular magazine with a removable inner tube and a brass follower visible through the loading port. Capacity is 15 rounds with .22 LR, and the action is side-ejecting with a single external operating bar on the left.
The barrel measures approximately 22.75 in and is rollmarked with the caliber designation 22 S, L, & L.R. Patent numbers 2,675,638; 2,751,702; and 2,815,602 are present, along with a barrel proof mark and a date/inspection stamp cluster near the receiver. A ramped front bead provides a clear front sight reference.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with the right side rollmarked Remington Fieldmaster MODEL 572. Furniture is hardwood with a gloss finish, featuring a straight-comb, pistol-grip stock and a grooved fore-end. The metal buttplate is checkered and carries the circular Remington medallion. Length of pull is 13.5 in.
The rifle uses a cross-bolt safety. This example includes a 4x32 telescopic sight with a 32 mm objective and a 1 inch tube, fitted with Telstar 1-inch rings. It is made in the United States.
