This Model 908 is a compact, single-stack 9mm Luger with an 8+1 capacity, designed for a slim profile and straightforward operation. Marked "Mod 908" on the frame, it reflects the Value Series approach to the 3rd-Generation S&W metal-frame lineup.
The pistol uses a 3.5 inch stainless steel barrel and a steel slide with a matte silver/gray finish, paired with a dark aluminum alloy frame for a two-tone appearance. The slide has rear cocking serrations only, keeping the profile clean and consistent.
Controls are practical and familiar: a left-side-only slide-mounted safety/decocker, a left-side magazine release, and an external spurred hammer. The action is short-recoil, hammer-fired, and double-action/single-action.
Sights are fixed and low-profile with a front blade featuring a white dot and a drift-adjustable rear notch. A one-piece wraparound textured polymer grip with the S&W medallion provides a secure hold. Per model literature, overall length is approximately 6.875 inches and unloaded weight is about 26 ounces.
