This MCX Virtus Patrol uses a gas-operated, short-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt and an internal recoil assembly. This setup enables the rifle to function with the stock folded, giving it flexibility in confined spaces while maintaining reliable cycling.
The 16-inch barrel is threaded and equipped with a three-prong flash hider. The free-float aluminum handguard includes M-LOK slots and a continuous 1913 top rail across the receiver and handguard. The rifle is configured without sights.
Controls are modern and accessible, with an ambidextrous magazine release and ambidextrous safety selector, plus a left-side bolt catch. A forward assist and an ejection-port dust cover are present. The rifle uses the STANAG/AR-15 magazine interface for a nominal capacity of 30+1, and it comes with a 30-round Hexmag.
The minimalist skeletonized side-folding stock locks to the rear via a folding knuckle interface. It includes a rubber buttpad and QD sling socket, and provides a 12.75-inch length of pull. The receivers are aluminum alloy with a two-tone black and tan finish, and the rifle is made in the USA. Markings include “SIG MCX MULTI-CAL.” on the left lower and “SIG SAUER INC NEWINGTON NH USA.” on the right lower.
