This first-generation Browning Maxus Sporting is a 2011-manufactured, gas-operated 12 gauge autoloader with a 28 in ventilated rib barrel and a green fiber-optic front bead. It features the Power Drive gas system, Speed Load Plus loading, and a Speed-Lock forearm latch. The shotgun is chambered for 2 3/4 in and 3 in shells, uses the Invector-Plus flush-fit choke system, and includes an Improved Cylinder choke among the supplied tubes.
The composite stock wears a grey/black/white camouflage finish with textured grip areas and a rubber recoil pad, while the receiver top and rib show a carbon-fiber pattern and are marked "MAXUS SPORTING." Designed at FN Herstal, Belgium and assembled in Portugal by Browning Viana, this aluminum-alloy receiver autoloader has a stated capacity of 2+1 and a 14.0 in length of pull.
