This Ruger AR-556 Free-Float Handguard model pairs a 16.1 in heavy-contour, cold hammer-forged barrel with an 11 in free-float M-LOK aluminum handguard for a sturdy, modern AR-15 configuration. It runs a direct-impingement system, uses 7075-T6 aluminum receivers with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish, and comes threaded 1/2x28 with a Ruger birdcage-style flash suppressor. Manufactured in 2021 in the United States, this example is in as-new condition and ships with a factory box and a 30-round PMAG.

The 16.1 in barrel is heavy-contour and cold hammer-forged with 5-groove rifling and a 1:8 RH twist for versatile 5.56 NATO performance. It is threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a Ruger birdcage-style flash suppressor.
The 11 in free-float aluminum handguard features M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock and on the angled faces, with RUGER marking. A flat-top upper includes a forward assist, case deflector, and ejection port cover, and there are no iron sights installed.
Receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. The rifle uses a semi-automatic, direct-impingement action with a 9310 bolt and an 8620 carrier; the carrier interior is chrome plated and the gas key is properly staked.
Ergonomics are anchored by a six-position, telescoping stock and a Ruger polymer pistol grip. Overall length spans 32.25–35.50 in with a 10.25–13.50 in length of pull, height is 7.20 in, and weight is 6.7 lb.
Capacity is 30+1 with STANAG-pattern magazine compatibility, and this rifle includes a 30-round PMAG. Receiver rollmarks read Ruger Mayodan, NC USA and model AR-556.
