The 12 gauge Mossberg 500 Tactical uses a proven pump-action system with dual action bars and a right-side ejection port. Its aluminum alloy receiver keeps weight manageable while maintaining durability, and the ambidextrous tang safety offers intuitive control for left- or right-handed use.
The 18.5 inch steel barrel has a fixed cylinder bore choke and is chambered for both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. A ventilated barrel heat shield helps protect the support hand under sustained use. Sighting is straightforward with a brass bead front sight.
Furniture is set up for control and adaptability: an ATI telescoping stock with an ATI rubber recoil pad, a 12.5 inch length of pull, and a synthetic pistol grip. The textured synthetic forend provides a positive grip. A short-arm extended slide release lever is installed for quick access to the action release.
Mounting options are built in. A receiver-top Picatinny rail is installed, along with a barrel and magazine tube clamp that adds short Picatinny accessory rails. Mountable shell holders are included in the bag if you choose to install them.
The shotgun wears a uniform matte black finish on the receiver and barrel. Receiver markings note "MOSSBERG NORTH HAVEN, CT U.S.A. 500 12 GA." This U.S.-made model has a 5+1 capacity with 2 3/4 inch shells and retains the classic Mossberg 500 operating controls and layout.
