The M&P40 Pro Series pairs a 5-inch barrel with a long-slide, first-generation M&P profile, offering a full-size .40 S&W platform with a 14+1 capacity. This example is the non-thumb-safety configuration and is capable of firing without a magazine.
Construction features include a stainless steel slide with a black finish over a polymer frame reinforced by steel inserts. Rear cocking serrations with a fish-scale pattern provide purchase, and the slide uses a right-side ejection port. The hinged trigger is a Pro Series hallmark.
Sights are straightforward and durable: a dovetailed front blade and a low-profile fixed rear notch. A loaded-chamber witness port provides a visual status check. The grip is textured and designed for interchangeable backstraps. A 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail is molded into the dust cover.
