This Type V variant reflects late pre-war production details. It uses a single-action, simple blowback system with an internal hammer, manual thumb safety, and grip safety. The configuration aligns with Colt’s 1941 output and the WWII era timeframe.
The pistol features a 3.75 in barrel and a compact profile suited to the Model 1903 line. The slide has vertical rear serrations, and the takedown latch/slide stop is positioned on the left side. This Type V configuration does not have a lanyard ring at the butt.
Construction is all carbon steel with a blue/black finish on both frame and slide. The grips are checkered walnut with flush Colt medallions, providing a period-correct look and positive purchase.
Sights are fixed, with a small half-moon front blade and a shallow rear notch. Markings include the left slide legend with 1897 and 1903 patent dates and the Rampant Colt logo at the rear. The right slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS." A "K" inspection/assembly mark appears on the right/front of the frame. Capacity is 8+1, and one 8-round magazine is included.
