The Hunter variant builds on the Ruger American action and a factory Magpul Hunter American stock. The reinforced polymer stock uses a cast-aluminum bedding block and offers an adjustable length of pull and comb for fit. The flat underside and M-LOK slots on the forend support stable rest options and accessory attachment. A rubber buttpad completes the stock system.
The 20" heavy-contour, cold hammer-forged steel barrel is threaded 5/8"-24 and comes fitted with a muzzle brake. Rifling is 5-groove with a 1:8" RH twist tailored to 6.5 Creedmoor projectiles. The barrel and receiver wear a matte black finish.
The action is a three-lug bolt with a 70° throw. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger is user-adjustable, and a tang safety provides intuitive operation. The receiver is steel with a matte black finish.
Feeding is from AICS-pattern magazines; capacity is 5+1, and one Magpul PMAG 7.62 AC 5-round magazine is included. A factory one-piece receiver Picatinny rail is installed. Overall length is approximately 41.25–43.25" depending on stock adjustments, and weight is about 9.2 lb. Sights are not installed.
