Built on a full-size steel frame, the Ruby Extra pairs a 6 inch steel barrel with a six-shot fluted cylinder that swings out to the left. It uses a push-forward cylinder latch in the S&W style and a coiled mainspring, reflecting the model’s service-revolver design. The action is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer.
The revolver is finished in blue with a color case-hardened hammer and trigger. The topstrap and barrel rib are longitudinally serrated, and the barrel carries a short underlug. The ejector rod has a knurled tip for positive control. Checkered wood grips with 'RUBY' medallions complete the classic profile.
Sighting is straightforward and durable: a fixed square-notch rear paired with an integral serrated ramp front sight. Factory legends and markings are present, including the caliber marking '38 LONG CTG', the right-barrel legend 'ACERO DE ALTA RESISTENCIA', and the left-barrel legend 'GABILONDO y Cia - ELGOIBAR (ESPAÑA)'. The left frame shows the oval cartouche 'Ruby extra' with 'Marca Registrada'.
Proofs and origin markings include Eibar proof marks on the crane and barrel shank, an Eibar proof cluster, and a 'MADE IN SPAIN' marking on the butt. An additional number 'X 07630710' appears on the left frame. This revolver falls within the 1955–1970 production era in Spain and presents as a well-documented example with strong, period-correct details.
