It uses a push-forward cylinder latch in the S&W style and a coiled mainspring, reflecting the model’s service-revolver design. The action is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer.
The revolver is finished in blue with a color case-hardened hammer and trigger. The topstrap and barrel rib are longitudinally serrated, and the barrel carries a short underlug. The ejector rod has a knurled tip for positive control. Checkered wood grips with 'RUBY' medallions complete the classic profile.
