Pre-Ban Izhmash Saiga-12 IZ-109 12 Ga Semi-Auto Shotgun | 19" Threaded Barrel, Laminated Birch Stock, Rare 2012 Russian Import
This Saiga-12 IZ-109 is a pre-ban 2012 Russian import made at the famed Izhmash factory and brought in before the 2014 sanctions halted further Saiga shipments. Built on the rugged AKM long-stroke gas-piston platform, it features a chrome-lined 19-inch threaded barrel, 3-inch chamber, and distinctive red-stained laminated birch furniture. Collectibility is high thanks to its pre-ban status, original Russian proof marks, and matching RWC importer stamp.

Imported before Executive Order 13662, this IZ-109 is classified as pre-ban, placing it on the short list of Saiga-12 shotguns no longer available from Russia. That import cutoff adds tangible collector value and ensures future scarcity.
The 19-inch smoothbore barrel is chrome-lined for corrosion resistance and threaded M22×0.75 RH, ready for factory muzzle devices or chokes. Its protected front post and fixed rear notch deliver classic AK-style sighting, and the receiver’s side rail accepts standard AK pattern optic mounts.
Furniture is true to Russian specification with red-stained laminated birch stock and handguard paired with a reddish-brown bakelite-style polymer pistol grip. The look is both authentic and durable, giving the shotgun a period-correct appearance.
Built on a stamped steel receiver finished in black enamel, the Saiga-12 retains the reliability of the AK action while cycling 2¾- or 3-inch 12-gauge shells. The included mix of 5-, 12-, and 20-round magazines lets the owner tailor capacity to task—from range use to competitions.
