The XD-9 Sub-Compact is a striker-fired, short-recoil, tilting-barrel 9mm with a compact 3" barrel. The barrel is hammer-forged and Melonite-treated, and the forged steel slide wears a Melonite black finish. The black polymer frame keeps weight manageable while maintaining rigidity.
Safety features include a grip safety, trigger safety lever, loaded chamber indicator, striker status indicator, and a firing pin block. The slide provides rear serrations for traction, a top-mounted loaded chamber indicator, and a rear striker status pin for quick visual and tactile checks.
Steel, dovetailed 3-dot sights (white-dot front and two-dot rear) offer a clear sight picture. A dual-spring, full-length guide rod recoil system supports reliable cycling. A single-slot accessory rail on the dust cover accepts compatible lights or accessories as needed.
