The pistol follows Colt’s compact pocket format with a blued steel slide and frame, an exposed hammer spur, and checkered wood grips set with Colt medallions. The micro footprint and 2.13-inch barrel keep the profile trim while maintaining a 6+1 capacity in .25 ACP.
It uses a blowback, single-action operating system. Controls include a heel-release magazine catch, a manual safety, and a magazine disconnect. Sighting is straightforward with a fixed integral front blade and a fixed rear notch.
Slide features include rear serrations for purchase and a longitudinal anti-glare rib along the top. Markings are correct: the slide is stamped "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER .25" with the Rampant Colt, and the left side reads "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG.
CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A."
This example is from the U.S.-assembled OD/0D-prefix production run of approximately 1971–1973, with this pistol dated to 1971. Its configuration, markings, and period-correct features align with that run and contribute to its appeal as a collectible Colt pocket pistol.
